A four-award winner, BioShock secured yet another 'Game of the Year' gong while Halo 3 went 0-for-6 on the night and an exclusive PlayStation 3 game was once again absent from the shortlist for the year's top honour.

The coveted award was bestowed upon the ambitious pseudo-RPG shooter by G4 TV’s "X-Play" videogame channel during its "Best of 2007" awards broadcast. The critically acclaimed underwater epic led the evening’s deserving recipients by also securing "Best Art Direction," "Best Writing," and "Best Original Soundtrack."

CoD4 should have taken GOTY, imo. I haven't tried BioShock, but since it's gotten so many awards...I may give it a shot.

You should, I agree with it being GOTY tbh. COD4 is a good game but not as good as BioShock. Well deserved.

I don't see how a FPS with no online play garnered GOTY status. Bioshock wasn't that innovative. Bioshock's replay value is extremely low compared to CoD4, even for the SP campaign.

I could see either game taking the award, personally. But I would of given it to CoD4 if it were my choice, too.
