Two teenagers are facing up to 48 years in prison after wrestling with a seven year old girl. The twist in this though, is that prosecutors are blaming the ever-so popular game Mortal Kombat as an influence to the way the teens had wrestled the girl.

Two teenagers have been charged with killing one of the pairs’ own 7-year-old sister using alleged Mortal Kombat imitation moves. The 16 and 17 year old teens were babysitting the child while the girl’s mother was at work when the incident happened.

The two teens reportedly hit, kicked and body-slammed the girl causing “a broken wrist, more than 20 bruises, swelling of the brain, and bleeding in her neck muscles and under her spine”, the affidavits have said. Prosecutors are claiming the teens were imitating “wrestling moves” found in the Mortal Kombat video game. The 17 year old Roberts claimed he was downstairs at the time, drunk and playing video games but witnesses have told otherwise.

the prosecuters must love this game. how else can they make the connection with this specific move?
Anyway, I seen many people die by many methods seen on tele or the cine or the book!

also, do you sue christianity or judaism or islam when people use violent methods as described in scripture? I think not.

How in thee HELL does no one blame the alcohol?! The kid even said he was drunk, that's why he didn't stop! But booze is a multibillion dollar industry. I guarantee that booze has racked up more deaths hundreds of times over than any lame ass video game influence excuse. The real excuse is that they were dipshits. End of story. I feel bad for the little girl's parents as they not only lost their baby girl, but her older sister was the dipshit who let it happen. Such a shame.

Wrestling? I play a lot of MK, and there's barely any grappling "wrestling."

Oh my God... This is the most horrible thing I have ever read here. That is so sad, that poor child is dead as a result of two witless tools. This is no laughing matter and those teens are in deep $h!t. The mother must be inconsolable. Now all we need to do is add one ounce of dumb ass in the form of Jack Thompson. These two sick fatherless *bleep*s didn't need a video game to make them kill that child. They did because they are sick in the head. "I was drunk"! BLEEP YOU A-HOLE! That's no excuse!

These kids could of been full blown drunk, high as a kites, equipped with illegally-obtained weaponry, and diagnosed with psychotic mental illnesses; if there was so much as a hint that they played video games, that's all that would be focussed on. This incident only further proves the ignorant and selfish nature of the media and the attention-driven parasites within it.

Bad parenting, alcohol abuse, that's all old news; video game violence, now that's your money-maker!

Um i think they got the wrong game, Street fighter or Tekken would have been better choices to associate this incident. MK has never had grappling ever, but the two i mentions above does.

But he was drunk thats evidence he wasn't influenced by Videogames Jesus please stop blaming games.

the fact that they were intoxicated has flown over some heads here. seriously, if the television were off, they would have done something else stupid to the poor girl, if there was a knife on the counter, they would have done a Jason, a pistol, done a revolver Ocelot, seriously. Whoever wrote the article (not the person who reported it here) needs to wake the hell up.

lol thats why you dont let drunks babysit your children.

buuuuut.. yeah, i agree with finalblade. MK dont have body slams. Now if them dudes where turning into dragons and biting her head off, then DAMN THAT MK.

blame tekken. there hasn't been a decent MK in years.

I just think they want to use video games as the scapegoat. They don't wanna lose the booze, so why not blame everything on a video game?

Aren't these games rated 18? If so, they're rated that high for a reason.
