Retailer selling delayed Rock Band for $500 in Canada

mistermostyn | December 21, 2007 | News | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Canadian desire to secure Harmonix's eagerly anticipated (and recently delayed) Rock Band (RRP $170) is seeing consumers willing to hand over $500 to an Edmonton retailer selling stock from a U.S. broker. Madness.
Edmonton-based Play Me Games has taken stock of around 50 units of Rock Band from a broker in the states and is presently selling the game for a whopping $500. While such a price would frighten off most consumers, demand for Rock Band is so high that Play Me Games saw more than half of its supply flying from the store by yesterday afternoon.

Sad, really, the whole firestorm about Wiis being sold out Guitar hero 3 sold for 1000 bucks, games like this being sold for 500 bucks. why can't people just wait for more stock to come in> I come from a modest income background, and I think it's stupid to blow so much money when it can be used for better things, like food, the mortage, etc.

Well, I guess that's one great way to make some money. And the sad thing is, people are actually paying all of that.
