A recent Bionic Commando podcast reveals Keiji Inafune's (the creator of Mega Man) commentary on Mega Man in Brawl. Inafune states that though he likes the Smash series and would like to have Mega Man featured, Nintendo has not yet asked.

Is he teasing, covering up an unwillingness to announce the blue bomber on the Dojo by HAL, or is Mega Man just not in yet? Though there's no way to tell, we at least know that the father of Mega Man is interested in having the blue bomber enter the Brawl.

Well, I really do love Super Smash Brothers. It’s a great series…but, Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet if they can use Mega Man in their game. I’m still waiting…we have a little bit of time left, it’s not coming out for another few months. They might get around to asking us if we’d like to put Mega Man in Super Smash Brothers. Maybe if somebody from Nintendo is listening to this podcast, they’ll give me a call.

Haha, well damn. If he wanted Mega Man in Brawl, he should have said so ages ago...why wait for an invite when you can simply request a spot? I suppose it would be more honorable in that sense, but still, take the high road.

Looks like it's something to look forward to in the next SSB game, of course, as the article mentions. There's no way that they can put him in at this stage, unless they delay the game again, which I doubt the fans would want.

Man what type of game is this? Are they trying to add everyone in this game. as of right now i think there's over 50 playable characters, man talk about choices.

They could add megaman i don't see why not. The fans didn't want this game delayed already what does a few months matter.

I would have liked to see Megaman in Brawl. Too bad the guy didn't ask if they Megaman could be considered to be put in the game.

I think it would be a bit to late now to get Megaman into the game unless he's trying to throw us off. Game is released in about a month in Japan and I don't think they would be adding characters into the game at this point.

It wouldn't be hard to squeeze a character in at this point. That part isn't horribly complicated. The original delay was likely for polishing purposes.

My guess is that he's just trying to throw us off due to Sakurai wanting to keep it under the hat.

Either way, there is at least a chance.

I don't want Megaman in the game, really. Sure, he may fit in there, but I think it's a bit too late for him to even ask if Megaman could be featured in Brawl.

And I have been playing as Megaman in the super smash bros flash this whole time, just to find out he isn't in it(yet. Maybe).

I think Megaman should be implemented and not overlooked. I hope Nintendo does get around to asking and getting Megaman implemented.

I wouldn't mind having Mega Man as a playable character, but we'll just have to wait and see if Nintendo will put him in or not.

Maybe they will but they won't show on dojo because they will safe the secret characters secret.

I think it is too late to put Megaman in the game. It will be released in two months and they should be finishing up on whatever is left by now. Megaman should have been brought up a long time ago
