Videogames implicated in another fatal shooting

mistermostyn | December 24, 2007 | News | Misc
With selective journalism continuing to cast videogames in a poor light, the Indianapolis Star has ran a story implementing videogames in a squabble that left two men dead.
An Indianapolis newspaper has added to the recent trend of holding videogames responsible for random acts of violence by running a supposedly videogame-related story that ended in the death of two young men.

Journalists will say anything to scare people into doing what they want them to do. Just don't pay any attention to them and move on. Reporting about their false statements in gaming publications of any sort (eg. IGN magazine, GameGrep) is just giving them the attention they want. If they want to make themselves look like misinformed idiots, let them, but comments such as what was posted before me only worsens the problem.

    Cue generic Jack Thompson reply:

We hear the same story over and over, video games blamed for a shooting. Could we maybe look at the fact that two YOUNG men could even obtain firearms?

It probably wont. There's bound to be some people who believe it's encouraging violence and there's bound to be somebody who actually does get ideas from games. Not everybody's got their screws in properly, top put it one way.
