The Wii may have been rarer than rocking horse poop during the Christmas period in some quarters of the world, but that didn't stop Amazon.com (when armed with the Nintendo Wii) from watching it fly off its virtual shelves at an amazing rate of sale.

Leading online store Amazon.com has this week revealed that massive sales of the Nintendo Wii videogame console have played an important role in making the 2007 holiday season its strongest ever.

To only find out its nothing more than a virtual Wii that can only be played on Home....

Uh... there are three Wii's in stock in the GameStop that's near where I live. I'm surprised they haven't been sold. But 17 units per second? That's pretty crazy [and in a good way].

I'm sure in more quiet areas there are more available. I walked past a Best Buy that had gotten about 20 in stock and there must hae been at least 60 to 70 people arguing to the manager they should get one.

Why the hell do people want a Wii?
Mario remakes can only go so far.

Yes, I wouldn't get a Wii either if only Mario remakes were on it.

So, which are these remakes you are talking about?

At this rate. I think it will suprass the PS3 and 360 for quite sometime in terms of sales.
