Thompson Strikes Again: Lawsuit against Omaha Police Chief

Another tragedy, another Jack Thompson escapade. The two seem to go hand in hand, don't they?

Thompson has filed a lawsuit against Police Chief Warren of the Omaha Police Department regarding the mall shooting because he won't cough up an inventory of items that were seized from the culprit's home via a search warrant.

Of course, Jack didn't do his homework, because Nebraska's state statutes specifically exempt law enforcement investigation files from being released to the public. He also seems to think that he's well on his way to destroying Take-Two Interactive, although he's nothing more than a thorn in their side.

His game of choice to blame? Grand Theft Auto, as usual. Nice try Jack, but stick to trying to saving your hide in Florida.

Three weeks ago, a disturbed young man named Robert Hawkins killed eight people along with himself during a rampage at Omaha’s Westroads Mall.

While most of those searching for a cause have focused on Hawkins’ mental health history and troubled past, Miami attorney Jack Thompson sees a video game connection.

    I thought he wasn't allowed to attack take two or GTA games. Well what an idiot. Why does the states have such a brainless idiot living or roaming freely in the streets.

      Oh, he broke that agreement about a week after it was made.

      Take Two brought hell down upon him as soon as he did. It's because of them that he's about to be disbarred from practicing law in Florida.

    Oh can we just lock him up in a white rubber room with a straight jacket on and a gag or 4 stuffed in his mouth? That and keep him sedated 24/7. Then all people who have any knowledge of him would have peace of mind and not have to listen to his crap.

    I'm surprised that he STILL hasn't been disbarred yet. Surely, with his antics, his disbarrment should have happened a looooong time ago? I'm honestly surprised that nothing has happened to him yet.

    I never said he was an accurate structure but he proves that education lacks in these days. I mean several people agree with his BS and thats cause there idiots. So i do think the educational Systems has been failing as of late, but whether he's prime example don't know. But he sure does lack common sense.

      It's sort of funny in an ironic way to read a post referring to someone as an idiot that uses "there idiots" instead of "their idiots". JT is well educated. The educational systems didn't break down when he was a child as they have now. He is very misguided and disturbed. He needs psychiatric help and proper medication. He honestly expects game developers to remover their product from video stores that sell to children. Why not try that with alcohol producers?

        Who cares about which there i use. Besides you get my point anyway. He isn't well educated cause if he was, he would have know that games doesn't cause anything bad. Thats why he's an idiot. To know something is to educate your self, since he doesn't with games he isn't well educated, thus shows he isn't smart and lacks common sense.

          He may be IGNORANT when it comes to games and psychosocial development but he is educated. "...he would have know that games doesn't cause anything bad." Video games can encourage kids to reenact what they do in video games like they do when they watch "Jackass" or WWE Wrestling. The problem is he is singling out video games and trying to link them with every tragic event that takes place. People have blamed problems on Rock and Roll music, RAP music, homosexuality, the devil etc... he is no different. To consider him an uneducated idiot that just needs to play video games is to seriously underestimate him. He reads GameInformer and gaming magazines, testified under oath he has played GTA III and GTA San Andreas among others. His son plays video games, I think he has a Wii. He has noble intentions but is going about it all wrong.

      Either he never received an education, his education level has run dry, or he chooses to ignore it. If it's either of the last two, then it's obvious that Jacko is an oldish guy. Gray hair, after all Education has evovled since his education... when did he graduate school, if at all? The '60s or summin?

    Jack Thompson is the biggest *bleep*ing idiot on planet Earth. His only defense against teenagers killing other teenagers is Grand Theft Auto. "Grand Theft Auto is a sadistic game that encourages young teenagers to go out and kill other teenagers" and all that other bullshit that's come out of his mouth. I bet that if Take-Two decided to shut down production on videogames for good, we'd never hear about this sonofabitch again. (Because the only real thing wrong in this world is violent videogames.) If he'd stop wasting his and our time with pointless arguments over the videogame industry, maybe he'd spend more of his useless life fighting the REAL media-issues.

    The real problem with Thompson is he expects developers to remover their product from stores that sell to minors. That's his sole goal in life. Everywhere else in our society the SELLER is the one breaking the law and should be punished. An adult sells alcohol to a minor he or she is punished by law, not Budweiser. He would be better served calling the cops every time he sees someone sell GTA San Andreas to a nine year old. Moreover the parents of the children are not concerned so why should Thompson be?
