Someone has gained control of a Halo 3 gamers account in order to - wait for it - play with a special armor that was given to him by Bungie as recognition for creating a video where he managed to kill himself with his sniper rifle. It's the third time in two months that his account has been accessed by these armor thieves.

The worst thing is that Microsoft isn’t helping the poor guy - 18004MYXBOX has hung up on him and Windows Live Support has turned a blind eye to the issue. So he and his buddies are working on getting the message heard by as many as possible with the obvious goal of forcing Microsoft and Bungie to deal with the issue.

Some clan called o INFAMOUS o is taking credit for doing it. It's pathetic that they only did for recon armor.

The armor sucks though, why hack the system to get it. The thrill for hacking must be quite high.

Some people think it's attractive. But I'm also thinking that this person was under the false impression that he could duplicate the armor.

It was the armor I set my sights on having before the game was released. I thought it looked really cool. But no. The one style I liked they had to make exclusive to staff.

I'm guessing it was a present to those who worked on Halo 3... Skyllus vBi and some other kid are the only two people with Recon out of the Halo 3 community.

How did they even gain access to his account? I'm assuming this guy isn't stupid and shared his user files or account passwords on the internet, so what's stopping anyone else's account (which contains personal and credit card information, I might add) being hijacked at a hacker's whim?

That's the scary part... they've been claiming that they called customer support up with just a little of his information and got more to recover his gamertag on their console.
