Looks like EA is going another round with the Sim City games on the Nintendo DS handheld by announcing the development of Sim City 2 DS. The first Sim City DS received so-so reviews and was not the critically acclaimed success EA was hoping for.

In the latest Japanese magazine Famitsu, Electronic Arts has announced the development of Sim City 2 DS, the sequel to the moderately reviewed Sim City DS for the Nintendo DS handheld. In addition, the first screenshots of the work in progress have been posted.

It seems to bear a similar look to Sim City 2000, a good step up from the lackluster graphics of the first DS title. GamingShogun will bring you more details as they are released.
