Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

It looks like Uncharted finally gets the recognition it deserves. It won best PS3 game of the year from IGN. But that really is nothing compared to Call of Duty 4, Which won game of the year by most of the major gaming sites.
Did you hear the news? Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare won Game of the Year on PS3 Fanboy. (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune won the reader's vote.) So, what did other major media outlets pick as their PS3 GOTY? We searched the web and found out.
GameDaily chose Call of Duty 4. "The campaign excels where most of its competition fails, delivering a nail-biting experience we couldn't walk away from until the explosive finale."
GameTrailers chose Call of Duty 4. "The authenticity on display here is to be commended, getting you as close as you can possibly be to something that far braver people experience--without the risk."
GameSpot chose Call of Duty 4. "Modern Warfare is now the benchmark against which all console shooters will be judged, and we're not expecting it to be bettered anytime soon."
GameSpy chose Call of Duty 4. "A game that hit every target it aimed for, from its gripping single-player campaign to the ridiculously addictive I've-almost-got-enough-XP-for-that-cool-gun multiplayer."
IGN chose Uncharted. "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune serves as the culmination of fun gameplay, an immersive story, stunning graphics, superb sound and characters you can connect with."
Looks like the critical mass agreed with us on the incredible power of Call of Duty 4. Did you enjoy the game as much as we did?

Given, they are two completely different genres and it would be stupid to compare them, and it's great to see a PS3 exclusive win the PS3 GOTY from a site, but it just doesn't seem like the right choice to me.
When I say Uncharted is a great game...you missed out the key words there, "I'm sure..." meaning that I haven't play it yet. I've heard great things about it but, because of it's genre and all, it's not my favorite type of game.
Another thing, the PS3 is lacking great multiplayer titles. All I really know of are Resistance: FoM, and WarHawk. Bring in something fresh like CoD4 and you'll be spending more time with your PS3.
Another thing, I did not say the 'IGN and ignorance' bit...I was just making a joke there, for one, and two, that was what I read in the signature of a Neoseeker member about a month ago, which I stated...Quite catchy, made me remember it...so yeah, maybe it was my mistake to NOT have added a smiley there, eh?
I didn't mean that CoD4 wins GOTY because of it's genre, I said in terms of fun factor and multiplayer abilities, it can easily bring CoD4 above Uncharted, that more people would be playing it for those same reasons. I was looking at this game of the year option, not for it's graphics, because they both look amazing, not for it's gameplay, because from reviews, both do well there, not even for it's story, which both do well in too...but for what would actually get more people on the PS3, and what was more fresh.
Again, going back to PS3's multiplayer line-up...it's quite weak. I assumed that CoD4 would be the best bet for gamers, as they've had enough Action titles this year: Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, Ratchet & Clank, and now Uncharted.
I used the wrong choice of words up there, and I'm sorry about that, I shouldn't have said that Uncharted didn't seem like the right choice, but I hope now you can understand my opinion on GOTY for the PS3...with the over-flowing action titles and all. It reminds me of the 360 and the large amount of shooters that came out this year, which to me makes Mass Effects stand out, and imo, makes that the GOTY for the 360, being quite a unique RPG experience. Yes it's an odd way to look at GOTY, but that's just my views on it, as most have a good story, gameplay, and other elements.
