With a whole host of seriously heavyweight gaming titles threatening to burst the 2007 software sack, the gaming industry has enjoyed one of its best years as it moves into the mysteries of 2008...

The critical popularity of flagship titles, mixed with continued fan attraction to established franchises and the introduction of valuable new IPs (intellectual properties), has also led to considerable commercial success. Software sales are on the rise to the tune of around $10.5 billion (through October) in the United States, while the UK gaming market has taken a total of around £1.52 billion during 2007.

Wow, historic year indeed. People coughed up a lot of cash last year for games, I know I did.

Aaanyways ... This year certainly was a great year in gaming. "Historic" might be pushing it though. lol
I expect 2008 will be even better, with games like Brawl, FFXIII, and MGS4 being released (just to name a few).

I second that notion. FFXIII, Brawl, MGS4, NGII, DMC4, GTAIV, etc. Seems like a better list to me. Actual hard-hitters in there.

Lot's of great games this year...expensive...games. I agree with Gothic Girl, historic might be pushing it. Still good year. More games to come for 08! I just hope there are a few lil gaps so I can pile some cash up.
