As most of you know the online store for the PS3 has so far been free. However in a poll asking the citizens of Japan on how to improve the Store one of the options was a monthly subscription plan. One payment for unlimited downloads. Would you be willing to pay if it meant more content?

File this in the "hmm, interesting" folder of your mind's desktop. Sony's polling its customers in the Asian market for ways in which they can improve their PC/PSP PlayStation Store. One of the selectable responses is "Monthly subscription plan (1 price for unlimited download)". Interesting idea.

Um. No. If it was just for certain "big" (for lack of a better word at the moment) content like on Xbox Live then I suppose it wouldn't be so bad. But every download costing cash? Lame.

No Thanks. Unfortunately I am already on a tight budget and have to save for weeks in advance of any games I may want or wait for Christmas to come around. I have 4 kids to feed who ALWAYS take precedence over video games. This would only steer me away from the PSN.

Of course that is just me, there are millions of other people out there willing to toss in a few bucks per month. So I will just have to live vicariously through them for a few years. LOL

You'll have to pay for demos as well? Damn! Otherwise, it's pretty cool. I believe this applies for the PSP as well?

Nuuuu, one of the reasons I got the PS3, is the free online aspect (I have a 360, but no Live Gold account)...

It isn' THAT hard for them to keep it free, is it? Just charge for certain DL content like they do now (expansions and stuff) >_>
