I don't know how you feel about Wii-mote attachments that just add a visual element and make them more awkward... personally I find the dull as hell. These ones though have a psychopathic twist.

US firm Dragon Electronics has released a collection of new Wii accessories in the shape of eight savage weapons that'll do the games industry more harm than good.

Now we're not about to go all Daily Mail on you but the pack includes a knife, an axe, a sword, a shield and what seems to be a semi-automatic pistol, just for good measure. Take a look at the image to your right.

What game they're for is beyond us - unless they've been knocked up with Manhunt 2 in mind for the US audience.

The accessories are apparently made from child soft materials, so there is little chance of kids actually cutting each other while playing Wii Sports. Yeah, but still...

Tell them how wrong this is here. Before you know who gets on the case, if he isn't already...

Uhm... yeah, what? It looks like some assassin just stuck a whole bunch of weapons in the Wiimote. How is that even playable anymore?

Man, our future seems bleak, with all this crud coming to a family friendly system -_- All our kids will grow up to be axe weilding maniacs,sigh...

I hope that is meant to be a Jack Thompson impression.

Well, they raise a fair point that this stuff is being released on a family console. I wouldn't go as far to say "kids will grow up to be axe weilding maniacs" but it's not helping them. Atleast they're made of soft material, although there's been enough stuff brought out as it is in my opinion.

I just wonder how many parents would actually buy those for their kids though.

This is weird. I don't see how these are going to sell, especially because it's a family console.

Wow...and I thought our gaming industry was at least semi-sane. Nice move Dragon Electronics. Just make the gaming industry and all gamers look like they want these knives and such, that way Jacko can go crazy with this and so other people might actually believe him to some degree.

Ugh.. lets just give this tool some more ammo to make his ridiculous claims with.

Why on earth would Dragon Electronics even want to make this? Those "accessories" not only look useless, but sure doesn't put gamers in a good light - (especially considering it's aimed for the Wii, which is known for being a console aimed towards everyone).
It's like they're trying to bait Jack Thompson and parents groups into protesting. Believe it or not, that's not what gamers want!

I don't get it... I really don't.. the Wiimote doesn't need to look like a gun or knife! what exactly is the point of this? to make gamers feel more involved in the game? Even if it does do that it comes at the price of lawsuits!

Haha! LOL. That is actually possible if kids get frustrated.

    StarJet Jan 4, 08
Anyway, what's the real point of these stupid accessories? Are they even accessories?

    Deathsythe Jan 4, 08
Thats like this: what is the point to having the tennis racket, golf club, or baseball bat, accessories for Wii Sports, they are more for effect, not so much practical use.

    The Primagen Jan 4, 08
But isn't the point of the Wii itself to immerse you?

      Capn Droid Jan 4, 08
The point of the Wii is for Nintendo to release a gaming console for this generation. It'd be awkward on Nintendo's part to simply stop making a console for one generation. Therefore, the Wii.

    StarJet Jan 4, 08
so this practically immerses you in murder and stuff.
    • 1
      Capn Droid Jan 4, 08
Oh, of course. Especially when you immerse yourself with knives and SMGs and RPGs and crap, because a rubber knife is jammed into the Wiimote rendering it unplayable.

So what are they gonna do when games like DoA come out for the Wii? Make a vagina attachment?

    Remino52 Jan 5, 08
That is ridiculous. But playing those in TP would make it more authentic.

    Final Blade Jan 6, 08
Not only would this put a bad image upon Gamers, and the gaming industry but mostly on the Wii. Since these systems are made for them. But i just don't see how they would want to make more ammo for JT, its like what GG said they're trying to provoke him or something.
