Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing
11 hours 8 mins ago
About 3 months ago, a Japanese taxi service (aptly named "Maid Taxi) began, which allowed passengers to play PS3 with a 'Sexy Maid' (dressed in a French maid outfit), watch DVDs, and listen to music while they waited to arrive at their destination. However, the service was only available to handicapped and disabled passengers.
That didn't stop the Japanese "Otaku" though, who were so desperate to "play with the maids" that they often faked disabilities and handicaps just for a ride. And after the taxi service caught wind of what was happening, they were forced to put an end to their service due to legal issues. Shame, really ...
The Maid Taxi was a clever concept - until hordes of "Otaku" descended upon the service, displacing those genuinely disabled the Maid Taxi's were designed to serve.
For disabled people in Japan dependent upon caregivers, it must have seemed like a dream come true. Just imagine if you will, a small fleet of wheelchair-accessible minivans decked out in luxury appointments available to pick you up and take you wherever you want to go. Oh, did I mention, the vans were piloted by comely young ladies dressed as French maids?

This isn't really news anyways.
*waits for tekmosis to prove otherwise*
It IS news since it's NEW information we did not know about, what it probably isn't is newsWORTHY...
Sometimes i wished i lived in Japan.
Essentally, an otaku is anyone who is seriously into something as a hobby (model car otaku, film otaku, game otaku, anime otaku, etc)...term is generally used to describe anime otaku people though....
It's like being called a fanboy of something.

What an awesome idea! I mean, it's a blatant grab for money but I can't help but applaud the creativity! If they had made it available to regular people, I'm sure it would have caught on like a brush fire...
