A 17 year old boy asks his father to look at his Xbox 360 on a Friday night, I'm assuming that his 360 met the infamous Red Ring of Death. The father disagreed and then an argument began resulting the son in handing a rifle to the father and asking him to shoot him. The father surprisingly agreed upon this request and shot his own son. The rilfe was a .22 caliber, the bullet entered his skull and ended up behind his ear.

The son is now being treated at the hospital Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. While the father was sent to Monroe County Prison with a $250.000 bail and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The ex-wife believes this is an accident and will not know the truth until her son is capable of speaking again as the son is currently being heavily sedated.

The 17-year-old boy reportedly wanted his father, James Stanley Niedosik, 60, to look at his Xbox 360 Friday night.

However, when the father didn’t want to, an argument ensued. During the dispute, the boy handed his father a rifle and told him to shoot him, and he did.

A real wtf moment here. Why would the teenager ask his father to shoot him...during an argument no less? And above that, the father actually does it. That family should have went to counseling long ago if they haven't already...hope the teenager makes it out nonetheless.

What can the father do about a game console? Unless he works or has worked in that department, the teenager's better off calling Microsoft.

A stupid move on the teen's part. A *bleep*ing stupid move on father's part. It's this kinda thing that at times convinces me that humanity is completely screwed and shall not survive. Honestly, we need an idiot tester device invented so we can find all the tools in the world capable of this kinda thing, then use them for a labour force or something, cause we're seeing more and more of this kinda thing with every passing day. I hope the kid comes out perfectly fine though.

Humanity is completely screwed because 0.01% (probably much less than that too) of the population does some messed up stuff like this?

The kid sort of wanted to get shot in the head. Over an argument with his dad on a video game. I think that's a valid cancellation of the name "super hero."

This is just... sick. Why would the kid ask to get shot Why the hell would the father agree to it? I heard of being "in the heat of the moment" but this is going way too far.

Ehh, there must have been more to the story than just the system. Usually if a father is driven to that...horrendous extreme, there must have been qutie a build-up in their pasts, it was probably a stormy relationship, and this...seemingly trivial thing was the breaking point. They both need years of family therapy and psychological counseling, that's if the kid even makes it out perfectly fine.

He asked his father to shoot him and he did it? Sounds pretty pathetic, he doesn't deserve to see his son again after that.

Oh my god, that is hilarious. I'm sure that their argument ended up being more than an XBOX 360, and if it didn't venture farther than that, they just have problems, and both deserve what they got.

      Hilarious? How?

That's sad. I think something's wrong with both the son and the father, but especially the father.

Wow... Thats kind of creepy and disturbing.

A side note, why does some coments have negative thumbs, and some have positive thumbs, even if they say the same things?

My guess is it went something like this...

*typical father-son argument about stupid crap*
Son - "Oh yeah? If you hate me so much, why don't you just shoot me?"
    Father - "OK then"

Father took things too literally >_> Well, it could have been an accident....Like, the rifle could have fired by accident...Like the article said, we won't know until after the son wakes up...

With the stupidity in some humans, I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. It's idiots like this who make regular gamers look like psychopathic murderers/abusers. >_>

... wonder if the father is feeling any remorse?

I actually cannot believe this, is this true? If it is then there are some stupid people that don't value their life obviously.

Icannot beieve how stupid some people can be.

Okay, it's been days since I've seen this article and I'm still trying to figure this damn thing out.

    1) Why would you argue over something this ?
    2) Why would you want your father to shoot you ?
    3) Why would you shoot your own son ?

If Jack Thompson appears and somehow connects this to video game violence, I will have lost my faith in humanity as the world' most intelligent species.

    Possible scenario:
Son:'You fool you can't fix anything you havent even fixed my rifle yet'
Dad:'Oh yes i did...you have to press this trigger...like this'
    Bam

    End
