It picked up an Emmy in 2007 for its invention of the D-Pad, and now the Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and DS dual/touch screen functionality have combined to see Nintendo scoop another Emmy at this year's awards in Las Vegas.
Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has once again been honoured by the Academy, which has awarded the groundbreaking company with a coveted Emmy for its "excellence in engineering creativity."

It seems like they're behind the times if they're only just commending Nintendo's patent of the D-pad.
I would have been happier if they got an Emmy back in 1985, when the D-Pad turned the video game industry around, not 20 years after.
Aren't Emmys given to...television shows, though? Oh well, Nintendo deserves it more than say, Desperate Housewives or Grey's Anatomy, at least they make useful forms of entertainment.
