It's been a long time coming, with several related rumours and denials issued over the last year or so, but the end of Backward Compatibility on the Xbox 360 could well finally be here.

Despite a bulging Backward Compatibility list that presently stands at an impressive 465 original Xbox titles, the most recent list update could well be the last if comments made by Microsoft group marketing manager Albert Penello pan out as fact.

They've got most of the more popular titles able to work for the 360 though, right? Would be good if they finished, but if it's too time-consuming or frustrating, then why not continue with other updates...like a browser?

I'm not happy that seemingly all the systems have neglected their previous systems, backward compatability has become secondary to getting the absolute latest...sometimes it's good to play older games.

Why do people want a browser on 360?

ESPN NFL 2k5 is on now?! AWESOME Best Football game ever.

Haha, honestly I don't like console browsers, but people seem to want it on Live. Guess it's for youtube videos or some crap.

G4 interviewed Microsoft last year asking when are they going to get a browser for a service that they pay for...when the other consoles have it for free. Microsoft said that they have no plans for it as of yet. I don't care for one, never use it.

This is no good. I think they owe it to the gamers to keep on adding games to the compatibility list.

Still haven't gotten Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes, either.
