We already know that the Wii and its reputation remains whiter than white, but consumers waiting for Nintendo to follow DS trends and supply coloured units of its motion-sensing console have thus far been disappointed. Does this new rumour signal the end of that disappointment?

According to a rumour report on gaming site GoNintendo, an observant employee at American retailer Target has noticed a product numbering alteration that could well be the prelude to the arrival of coloured Wii units.

It's bound to happen. The Wii only has the white console, right? They'll eventually bring in a variety, eye appeal is buy appeal, heh. I especially like the black and red ones from the screen.

Well since Wii's are still near impossible to get over here, people only care about actually getting a console rather than having a choice of colours to choose from. The new Wii colours will be nice.. better late than never. Even so, I've always gone with the default colour for consoles so I don't mind.

I wouldn't mind having a colored unit. I currently don't own a Wii at this time, so it's not like it would cost me much more than the regular price to get one. I'm quite liking that olive colored one.
