In an interview with ThatVideoGameBlog.com, Evan Wells, the co-president of Naughty Dog (developer of Uncharted) said they discovered new ways of optimizing their engine. The man says there's "a lot more" in store for the PS3.

The PlayStation 3 is a complex yet powerful system. We could not pull off the rich, seamless world of Uncharted on any other console. Because the system is so powerful, it means that tapping into that power requires great engineering efforts. We’re lucky that Naughty Dog has some of the best programmers in the industry. I can also tell you that as we’re finishing Uncharted, we’ve found new ways of optimizing our engine to take advantage of the hardware. All of which means that, as beautiful as our game is, there is a lot more in store for the PlayStation 3.

    Well I would imagine...

This is something Peter Dille would've come up with to feed us with more of his PR crap, but if Insomniac is any evidence, this is most likely true as well.

I wonder what their next project is?

Uncharted was an amazing game, and it was only using 1/3 to 1/2 of the PS3's power, so I'm pretty excited to see what's in store for us.

Plus bearing in mind more efficient engines will need less power to run.

Naughty Dog and Insomniac seem to be the PS3's biggest supporters. Resistance was awesome (as is the upcoming R:FOM 2, is the press doe snot decieve us), and Uncharted was one of the bigger titles of 2007.

Hopefully they'll only go up from here.

What about Kojima Productions, I mean they could have chosen the 360 to release MGS4 on, as they know it would have made loads of money if it was released on both consoles? Oh well, it's good news, that developers are getting round the technical stuff... at last...
