It looks like Silent Hill Origins might be getting ported to PS2, with various online gaming stores displaying a "soon to be for sale" PS2 cover of the game.

There's no official word from Konami yet, but with all the positive word around the net, don't be surprised if this were to be true.

Konami hasn’t announced anything official about a PlayStation 2 port of Silent Hill Origins, but an image of semi-official looking box art is matriculating through the internet. Gamefly and Amazon posted it up with a floating March release window. Crisp box art doesn’t mean it’s definitely coming out, but don’t be surprised if it does! The decision to port Silent Hill Origins is a pragmatic choice for Konami to boost sales of the title, which I imagine was quite expensive to produce due to a developer change midway through the project.

Hmm, I don't see Origins working well for the PS2. I mean, the graphics and overall gameplay seem to fit exclusively for the PSP. Though this is a plus move for SH fans that don't have a PSP.

Well hey, if the PSP GTA games can be ported to PS2 without a problem, why not this? Sure, it won't seem as "complete" as the fuller Silent Hills, but it's better than nothing, especially if it is a good game overall.

YES! I'll be one of the first to get that if it's released for the PS2.

Seriously, I was just thinking this before when I was on Origins. Weird.

I actually think it'd work well, Origins was a lot like the console versions.
