Possibly one of the greatest stage additions to the Super Smash Bros series. This stage is World 1-1 and 1-2 from the original Super Mario Bros game on the NES. This stage ought to bring back some memories, and while fighting, the stage will scroll across, allowing you to enjoy the entire level of the original game.

Also with this update is the music for this stage, based on the music of the original Super Mario Bros as well.

Ah, the Mushroom Kingdom. Most Smash players recognize this place from previous games in the series, where the world was represented in a pixel-art style reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros.

But why the "y" on the end of "Mushroom"? What’s the difference?

This time around, we’ve designed a stage that recreates the layout of World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros.—but with rich backgrounds added to the mix.

The kingdom you once knew has turned to ruins over the long years, and it is now your battlefield.

You’ll get to enjoy a wide range of familiar structures. Also, since the stage slowly scrolls sideways, battles here will require you to come up with a very different strategy for winning.

Oh, and when you select this stage it will occasionally load an alternate underground stage.

Read the update as it explains why there's a y.

Sweet, I loved the dungeon levels, heh. I hope to randomly get it often. xD This stage beats the previous Mario stages throughout SSB.

I wonder if fighting in World 1-2 will scroll across just until the warp pipe at the end, or if it will eventually lead to the warp zone hidden in the back.

I am not sure about not making the underground level optional. I will want to Brawl there a fair bit.

I personally do love this stage. It has the chance to be my favorite out of them all. I love the look for it.

    ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I just learned by reading the article. Pretty much, I'm a huge sucker for nolstalgia, (Mario nolstalgia especially) I have a feeling I'll be playing here on with the friends quite a bit.

Seems like a much more relaxing version of Icicle Mountain from Melee. I really like what I see.
