The Smash Dojo has presented us with a demonstration of an online Brawl match in order to reassure players they are trying to minimize speed changes online. The update might not be a new character, but more footage is always better.

(go to source for video)

While it’s true you can battle over Wi-Fi, your connection environment and the distance between players can cause great changes in speed. That fact probably makes you a little uneasy.

So, we conducted an online battle between Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto and the development team in Tokyo. The distance between Kyoto and Tokyo...is nearly the same distance between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

        There isn't a spring item per se; it's Sonic's Up+B.

He means at around the end of the JP video. Sonic isn't even in that one.

Anyone else notice that the sandbag seems to be an in-brawl item now?

It seems as though there isn't much lag from between Kyoto and Tokyo, which is a good thing. Judging by what many PS3 games and such are doing, I wouldn't be surprised if they made it so there are lobby's for certain regions, etc. Similar to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Motorstorm, and other games.
