Yet more bad news for Super Smash Bros. Brawl fans...
It looks like Nintendo haven't made enough copies of the game to satisfy demand, and as a result are only sending a (very) small bunch of copies to each retail store in Japan. An example of this is the Lepton game store, who have 800 preorders, yet have only been sent 154 copies of the game. Ouch.
It has even gotten to the point where stores have been forced to cancel or no longer accept pre-orders for Brawl.
You would think Nintendo would be prepared for this. But apparently they only have 30,000 copies ready for the launch date, which is very low for ANY game's launch sale, let alone a game as highly anticipated as Brawl.
If a delay didn't hurt enough, reports of a shortage of copies of Super Smash Bros. Brawl should have Japanese gamers clutching their chest and their reserve tickets.
Our sister site Japanator points to a couple of shortage issues that have already arisen in the island country. Japanese game retailer Lepton says that they are only getting 154 copies. We wish them luck in filling their 800+ preorders. Yikes!
J-blog Canned Dogs says that the store is going as far as to purchase copies from other outlets at full price to satisfy demand. They managed to secure an additional 100 copies of the game at 7,350 yen each, which would cause them to lose money on the 6,800 yen game. I'm sweating for them.

Some of the less popular stores might be lucky to get over 50 copies sent to them.
This really wasn't well planned on Nintendo's behalf. The fact that they have created such a small amount of copies of the game is really quite ... pathetic!
Well it certainly is one way to generate some extra hype. Not that Brawl really needs any but the semi causal gamer who play games because there peers do not seem to not know that much about Nintendo, making Brawl's popularity among the truly game obsessed Wii owners clear by this method throughout the world would be a stroke of genius.
But I really hope Nintendo aren't using that evil genius kind of move.
I can't believe that Nintendo, or any gaming company for that matter would have this problem. Especially with a game that is highly anticipated.
Gonna Write Nintendo in it if i don't get My copy.
This will definitely be messy.
