With a reported $50 million USD securing exclusive extra GTA IV content for Microsoft's Xbox 360, PS3 fans may have been since feeling somewhat disgruntled concerning DLC. Well, rumour has it there will be plenty of downloadable content when it arrives on the PlayStation 3.

Current online chatter suggests that Redmond-based Microsoft’s big-dollar edition of Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV will be bolstered by the inclusion of two longevity-friendly downloadable game chapters, which will arrive exclusively on the Xbox 360 platform via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

However, those chapters – while no-doubt tantalising - will supposedly be the sum total of the exclusive content secured by Microsoft’s bank-busting deal, with all other downloadable content related to the eagerly anticipated title equally as available for the PlayStation 3 as it is for the Xbox 360.

But chapters are the most important thing! Anyway, a rumour is nothing to go by.

Naturally, there will be more content (and I mean stuff that expands the story/gameplay, not just videos and themes, etc)....

MS just got two particular expansions that the PS3 CANNOT have....So, I imagine both consoles will have the same content (expansions), with exception taken to the 360's episodic content >_>

Honestly, as far as I am concerned, everything we have heard about Grand Theft Auto 4, 1V, or whatever you want to call it, has been very, very good news and included this, it just keeps getting better and better

It doesn't matter though, the PS3 DLC isn't going to be better to 360 dlc. If $50 million doesn't proof it than idk what will

Which means PS3 owners are missing out on one of the most vital part of the game: the story.

I think it is unfair for the 360 to get the extra features just because of a large check, but oh well. Rockstar definitely has the resources to create exclusive content for both systems, so why not? They'd certainly play fair to the PS3 users.

Thats why when you have money you get whatever you want lol

Red 9 not entirely the DLC for 360 is just an addition to the story, and an extra island, its not going to affect the PS3 version. Both versions are the same without DLC, its just these content will just make the game more enjoyable for others.

Although RR stated without the DLC this game can literally last forever. So basically the DLC is virtually pointless.

An extra island? I'd say that's fairly significant.

who the hell plays gta for the story? really. i've never known anyone in my life that did anything more than just use codes to get the good weapons, then go on a rampage until they died. then its your friends turn to do the same thing. and you alternate. thats how you really play gta, kids.
*bleep* extra missions, even though i favor the 360 over the ps3, i dont really care about this extra content at all.

Was that just a joke? That would be a waste of my money and my life to just use codes and shoot shit up.

Actually, GTA without the missions is pretty much pathetic.
