Ah, good ol' China. Where would we be without your copyright-infringing ways?

An official Beijing Olympics information pamphlet has recently been released to secondary schools around China, and one of the characters on the front cover seems awfully familiar. Apart from the shirt color and a few facial details, she's a dead-rigner for Haruhi from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya series. She's even striking a very Haruhi-esque pose!

I wonder if a lawsuit will be made out of this?

A pamphlet in China for secondary school kids with information about the Beijing Olympics has a drawing of a girl on the cover that bears a strange resemblance to a certain character! She looks very similar to that Haruhi girl but I’m sure it’s only a coincidence.

Ha ha ha! That's fairly brazen, I wonder if the responsible party was expecting this to go under the radar in the age of the intertube. Then again, maybe they could care less. It's too bad for the organizers of the Beijing Olympics that unlicensed goods is just too entrenched a market in China; the livelihoods of many people in the country depend on it.

Making her shirt striped was a pathetic attempt at de-infringing Haruhi. Seriously, what were they thinking?

Damn, China is hell bent on making sure they copy everuthing on the face of the planet, and making it shittier. I love that anime, how dare they mock Haruhi!
