Jack Thompson defends Mass Effect !

It sure has been a hectic week, with the Fox vs Mass Effect news practically taking over the internet. So what's new this time? Well, it's a shocker. Jack Thompson has emailed Kotaku, stating his opinion over the botched Mass Effect interview and he actually defends the game! Claiming that Cooper Lawrence (the psychologist who slandered the game without having ever played it) is both uninformed ... and a man!
I never thought I'd say this but ... Go Jack!

I got on to the topic of the Mass Effect controversy and was shocked, literally out of my socks, to find him defending the game... sort of. Apparently, even anti-gaming crusader Jack Thompson found self-help author Cooper Lawrence (who he refers to as a man), uninformed and the entire controversy contrived. Hellooooo kettle.

Why would you be surprised. I don't see any problem with it. The guy who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about.

    This seems too odd for it to be true. Its JT were talking about. He went after Bioshock for crying out loud. Im skeptical about this to be honest.

    I'm rather skeptical too. The same Jacko who's done some of the most crazy and idiotic things in his apparent video game/gamer crusade isn't agreeing with what's said by Lawerence and says she's a man who shot "his" mouth off. I wonder if he noticed how bad Lawerence got burned by gamers and he's just trying to stay on our good side for the moment. Or maybe his new glasses have made him somewhat smarter! Unlikely I suppose but meh, it's nice to dream.

    AS the reporter there said, I'm tempted to use the teapot/kettle analogy here, so it's hard that a man with his reputation is in any position to say "The guy who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about."

    I mean it sounds awfully familiar to a situtaion Jack's been in.

      Seven horsemen ? Did the Pope add three more Horsemen to the Book of Revelation without anyone else knowing ?

      As for Jack Thompson defending a M-rated video game, I'm pretty sure that's a sure sign of the Apocalypse.

      And to all the people saying that they're skeptical about the legitimacy of the course, you do all realize that Kotaku is a very popular gaming news website? They don't make up shit just for the fun of it. They don't need to.

        Actually Kotaku do post wild stuff on their site. But this takes the cake, this is Jack Thompson GG, this sounds just as credible as JT signing the GTA game.

          Right i abused it on them, first off no one on here would know who thumbs who down only the mods. Second why would i abuse a feature on them( i have no problem with anyone here, nor want to have one). They do it cause my name is final and they don't do it for the integrity of the post which is abusing the feature which the mods here already know. Even Krunal(which also people abuse and gives him negative numbs for good posts) but there is nothing for me do about it.

    Why did i get thumbs down, are you seriously defending JT here, the same man who has bashed video games come on. I find this a little weird and non Jack Thompson like. Its the same thing with JT signing a copy of a GTA game.

    But yea, while I won't go out and call BS, I have my doubts about this >_>

    He COULD just be following the crowd, and/or wanting to appear 'unbiased' about videogames, in an attempt to try and make his arguments seem more 'valid' and 'fair' >_> It ain't gonna fly, if that is the case >_>
