Jeterocks | January 29, 2008 | News | Playstation 3
Seems like the next great racing experience has finally received an official US release date as well as its price point. While not being the full game, it still shows how amazing the game will be.

Featuring online mode as well as numerous cars the game will cost $40.
It’s official - SCEA announced today the April 17 North American release date for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, available exclusively for PS3. Developed by famed Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available for $39.99 on Blu-ray Disc (BD) and as a download via the PLAYSTATION Store.

The BD version will offer added value with an exclusive behind-the-scenes High Definition (HD) video feature called “Beyond the Apex”. This video will offer some awesome access to the folks at Polyphony and give some background on how they are able to create such a realistic and beautiful driving simulator. We’ll have more information on GT5 Prologue leading up to its launch in April.

Only $40? That's quite a steal. Certainly, if not the best, one of the best damn racing simulator games on the market.

Haven't picked up GT4, but I do own and play GT3 A-Spec from time to time.

I'm pretty sure that those who get Prologue will have more additions than those who just get the regular. Though I'll feel dumb if that weren't true.

That's less than what the japanese pay for it. Not much, but still. I'm guessing it will be around 30-35 Euros...

But some thing rediculous in the UK I bet. Oh well, still gonna get it, but currently saving for MGS, so by the time i've got that the real game will be out.

I just want to know when the real game is going to be done. Was it confirmed that there is no damage?

No, they confirmed there will be no damage. They said there may be a post-release download, but as it stands, no damage. Hopefully this'll be the game that puts Forza 2 in its place. Personally I think the cars are too sluggish in Forza 2...

They always do this... They released a demo of the prologue on the Japan store, and then released the Prologue which they always do...
