During EA Q3 2008 EA told 1up and other news reporters that the games in the Orange Box will all be sold separately. The games are supposed to hit stores by March 31st.
During yesterday's Electronic Arts' Q3 2008 fiscal year earnings call, which produced confirmation of Rock Band on Wii and revealed delays of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames and Battlefield: Bad Company, the company also mentioned that the new titles included in Valve's The Orange Box will soon be sold as separate releases.
"We are unbundling Orange Box and releasing separate PC SKUs, Half Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress [2]," said Warren Jenson, chief financial officer and executive VP at Electronic Arts.
The separate SKUs are likely to hit retail before the end of EA's fiscal year on March 31st, though further details (such as pricing) are not yet available. Also unclear is whether The Orange Box will continue to be produced, or if all five titles (including Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One) will solely be available in separate packages on the PC platform i
