Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing
11 hours 13 mins ago
Considering the hype surrounding Super Smash Bros Brawl, Nintendo really don't seem to be on the fans' side lately. There has been major understocking, problems with the online mode, and now there is an error when the game boots up and plays videos ... and Nintendo refuses to take responsibility for it. In fact, they are blaming the fans for this one - Yes, they are blaming any bugs that Brawl might have on the customer's inability to clean their Wii. Apparently Brawl gets buggy if a Wii is covered in too much dust or tobacco smoke.
After reports emerged of Brawl encountering errors upon booting (and also of sluggish video playback), Nintendo have sat down, looked at the problem and decided that problem is not on their end. It's on your end! They reckon it's all down a dirty disc lens, caused by a buildup of dust and...tobacco. Other games haven't seen this problem because Smash Bros is one of the few Wii games to date to ship on a super-sensitive, dual-layer DVD. And because Average Joe can't clean a disc lens himself, Nintendo are offering to clean affected Wiis for free, no doubt in exchange for some condescending comments about how to better take care of your console. So there you have it, Japan. Quit smoking! It's bad for your health and your Wii.

Obviously you need to clean your systems, but not every Wii owner smokes tobacco.
It is ridiculous for Nintendo to be blaming everyone on this though. If it was only a couple of instances, then sure.
I hope gently blowing into the disk slot is enough to get Brawl to run properly, though.
If they keep this up I don't think they will last too long with their console war against Sony and Microsoft. They'll most probably lose their customers to the other two competitors.
Still, this is pathetic. Nintendo, pplease, I was a Nintendo fan since I was born with the gold old NES and I always had faith in you. But now, your just making pathetic excuses to escape the angry fans. Nintendo, fix this. Everyone knows you can't handle online, fix it now. Or the Wii might be my last Nintendo console.
No pun intended. Well, okay, maybe just s teensy weensy bit.
