If any of you have ever been with Tiscali (a UK Broadband provider), then you know that up until a year ago, their service was brilliant, and even I never had any complaints with them.... till as mentioned a year ago. Suddenly, I found myself unable to connect to online, games, and I even experienced A LOT of lag whilst browsing normally. It took a couple of months of suffering before I decided to do the right thing and switch, however many others have not taken the same initiative and have found that the service is pretty much the same.

Gamers attempting to play Call of Duty 4 online experienced problem after problem, some couldn't connect, and those that could experienced lag, and were often kicked off... well when Tiscali were contacted they insisted that they were "carrying out improvements".... hell if improvements take over a year to carry out, then I wouldn't consider them improvements as much as a nuisance.

One word of advice... if your a Gamer and your broadband provider is Tiscali.... switch whilst you can, and if you've just joined them... complain complain complain, and you'll eventually get your Mac code which will allow you to change without paying any fees ;)

As previously reported, forum posts on the European telecommunication firm's website from irate broadband subscribers outline numerous issues faced when trying to play games like Call of Duty 4 online.

Mental note made; never consider Tiscali if looking for new ISP.

I really don't understand why the company has to be like this. They're certainly not doing themselves a favour.

I use Tiscali and find that every now and then the connection just drops and I can't browse any more until I restart. I've tried to convince a switch but naturally there's no problem unless it effects my dad, who barely uses the PC. It does make playing online annoying when I get lag.

Well if you have Sky or Virgin then try to switch to their online service. It's better and cheaper and maybe that'll convince your dad...
