Since the first Gears of War became the fastest selling XBOX360 game back then, people were expecting a sequel. February issue of GamePro magazine is having a special GoW2 report that reveals info that is upcoming. This issue will hit the stores Feb 12th.

The original Gears of War came and conquered in November 2006, becoming the fastest selling Xbox 360 game in the process back then, handily crushing all competition that dared step in its way. So a sequel to the game was a given since day one. And even sooner according to Microsoft’s Jeff Bell, who said the purpose of the games “Mad World” commercial was to establish Marcus Fenix as the hero of the Gears of War trilogy.

Fast forward about 15 months, and it seems Epic Games is getting ready to unveil the second game in the franchise.

The recently released cover of the upcoming February issue of GamePro magazine shows that we’re less than two weeks away from getting a first taste of solid Gears of War 2 information

Been saying it all the time...it's likely to be this year...or early next year. They want to get the trilogy on the 360 console...and it'd give us something to look forward to for the 360 this year (exclusively). Can't wait!

They'll stick with the 360. Chances are they're in a deal with Microsoft to have the Gears of War trilogy on the 360 alone, or something along those lines.

No, no, no, Epic want all three Gear's to be on the 360. They don't want 1 and 2 to be on 360 and the 3rd to be on the Xbox 720 (or whatever Microsoft names it).

Thanks for making that clear, Woudo.

          *Edit*
I'm very confused...why did this comment get -4 thumbs? I was simply thanking Woudo for clearing up what I said about Epic wanting to get all three games on the 360, because I may not have chosen the best words for it. Now I don't know if this is lashing out for personal reasons or because some of you aren't fans of the 360 or Gears, but this is very childish...

Most games are, which focus on the MP. I thought the campaign was a good length with a lot of replay value. I must have went through it atleast 5 times.

Seriously? I thought it was extremely short, its ease forced you to play on Insane, and there was no replay value at all, with a generic storyline.

Everybody saw it coming... the sooner it's released the better. I agree that the first game was a little short but the online made up for that so much!

Didn't they say something about Gears 2 right after the original was released? If so, this isn't really bug news.

Oh well. It will probably sell more than Halo due to the success of the original.
