Microsoft is always keen to keep Sony and Nintendo at a safe distance by maintaining a series of top notch exclusive software. According to gaming magazine XboxWorld360, Gears of War 2, Dead or Alive 5, Forza Motorsport 3, and Halo: Chronicles are going to be those exclusive top notch titles for this year.

And, as the Game Developers Conference (Feb 18-22) heaves into view, it’s unsurprising to see the gaming community cranking up the rumour mill’s well-used churn meter with regard to exactly how the Redmond-based behemoth is planning to continue its software drive.

Today that responsibility falls to independent videogame print magazine XboxWorld 360 - which is directly affiliated with prominent online magazine CVG.

According to online scans taken from its provocatively-titled article ‘The Secret is Out,’ 2008 will see Microsoft banking on four major gaming brands to help reinforce its positioning in the all-important exclusivity stakes.

So you want a gaming company that has made millions off of its games, not to try to make more money with another game? I fail to se the logic in that...

And like Slumpy said, this is no Halo 4, it's a game that Peter Jackson is working on. (Which has been announced quite a while ago)

I'm interested in what Halo: Chronicles will end up like. I loved Halo 3 like the other two games and I'll end up grabbing Halo Wars too. I'll definitely end up keeping an eye on it.

Dead or Alive 5? Forza Motorsport 3? Team Ninja rarely works on multiple games at one time, and they're already pushing it with NG2 and NGDS. Forza 3? Why would they make the third one when they're still profitting from the second one AND its downloadable content?

True, I don't see DoA5 being released this year...but who knows? They can surprise us...hope it's true, because the 360 has even more competition this year with Brawl and MGS4.

Don't they mean top notched over hype, exclusive titles. Oh what thats halo, lol.

Anyway DOA will be interesting and i don't see the whole reason behind Forza 3 to be honest.

What do you mean? You don't see the reason for what? Them making it?

Forza is probably the best racing sim ever. That's why.

Come on, man! Gran Turismo 4 is better! Never mind, it depends on the gamer's taste.

I said RACING SIM. Cars don't bounce off walls like rubber balls.

So this is the game which going to tie in with the movie? A videogame of a movie which is based on a videogame? Man thats ironic

      Silent Storm Feb 4, 08
It's not a movie tie-in. It's more like a half movie-half video game (interactive movie I guess), or something like that.

But I don't think it has anything to do with the movie.

If it's like Fahrenheit, then it's gotta be pretty good. Shame no more games of that type came out. I doubt it'll be like Fahrenheit, though. Fahrenheit wasn't that popular, was it?
