Most people that you see making millions of money just sit down all day and wait for those checks from the bank, not Dr. Ryuta Kawashima.
The brain age series has sold 17 million copies world wide, making the sales at a total of 22 million. He would rather use the money for brain research.

Most people who endorse massively successful properties featuring a huge picture of their own smiling face on the cover are more than content to sit back and collect fat royalty checks for the privilege. Then again, most people aren't Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, the man whose polygonal face has become synonymous with Nintendo's super-popular Brain Age series.

Seems the good doctor recently decided to politely turn down an astounding $11 million in royalty payments that would otherwise have been paid out in compensation for his likeness featuring prominently in Nintendo's smash hit moneymaker.

"Not a single yen has gone in my pocket" said Dr. Kawashima to Agence France-Presse. "Everyone in my family is mad at me, but I tell them that if they want money, go out and earn it."

Wow, that is quite admirable. 11 million dollars is no laughing matter in research. Who knows, this may give that extra boost needed to treat diseases with no cure. You won't know until you try.

Quite admirable all right. Maybe he has a lot of money, so he doesn't really care.

Maybe he can give some to the AIDS foundation. They need all the money they can get.

Good on him for giving it all to charity. Not many people would do that. Heck, I must admit, even I'd be tempted to keep most of the profits, but he gave away all of it. Wow!

He did the right thing. Did anyone else hear that there have been some serious problems with the speaking part of the training? Accents really disrupt it and cannot be picked up by speakers.

Nothing more than just my own personal experiences trying to get the damn thing to recognize "scissors". 3 of us in my family have the same problem and we don't have accents.

Interesting. Very generous, but it is still something you earned. And you should use at least some of that money for yourself, no?
