Yesterday an article surfaced on the Internet stating that the Playstation 3 version of Devil May Cry 4 will force you to sit through a 20 minute installation the first time the disc is inserted. Capcom today responds jokingly to the situation saying that it's true you have to wait 20 or more minutes the first time you insert the game in your PS3, but it's not like we're forcing you to constantly click 'yes' to various Windows dialog boxes.

The installation is to make the game run smoother and to result in faster loading times. Chris Kramer, Capcom community man says that after the installation the PS3's loading times are hardly noticeable but CVG then states that they are only a few seconds shorter than the Xbox 360's loading times.

Now to draw up a conclusion here, if 20 minutes of installation will stop you from purchasing this game then you are not a true fan. Everyone who has waited patiently for DMC4 is not going to faint if they wait another 20 minutes. Capcom have clearly stated that the installation is for our benefit, so why complain?

Capcom US has responded to CVG's report yesterday that PS3 Devil May Cry 4 forces gamers to sit through a mandatory 21 minute install time - with little improvement to load times there after.

That's crap. They are just lucky that my 360 is in for repairs, so I'd have to get it on the PS3...no way am I waiting until March, lol. I was going to get in on the PS3 originally, but that's a huge installation which drew me away from it. I mean, I don't mind the wait, but about 5GB?

That was my thinking too. I was going to get the PS3 version, then I heard about the 5gb install and I went for the 360 version. It's not like I don't have the space (I have the 80gb model), I just don't like the idea of having to install games to a console.

It's just a bit too much imo, and the 360 doesn't have to go through this installation. xD I don't know, maybe I'm just paranoid.

I'm just a little picky when it comes to programs and such eating away my GB. I have enough, sure, but I don't want to reach a point where I'm in desperate need of GB...where I'd have no space for anything. Guess that comes with having a 360, only about 20GB, and now I'm down to 7.

Good for them. Responding jokingly because it makes the game run smoother and results in faster loading times as well. Just as I said, it makes the game run SMOOTHER. The 360 version suffers from a slightly less stable framerate, I'm sure having all this data installed on the HDD helps the game run better as well, besides just helping with load times.

Because think of it this way, if it helps with load times, it's going to help with caching as well during actual gameplay. The CELL is going to be able to grab textures and models and all that good stuff more quickly than it would be able straight from the disc.

How do you know the 360 version has framerate stutters? The game's been out for what, half a day? Or at all?

      Keyword: Better

Suffers is a terrible word. It'll make them better that doesn't mean that they were bad in the first place. It just means that they're better.
