Red Faction III Mentioned by CEO During Conference Call

MondoPest | February 05, 2008 | News | PC Playstation 3
It seems as though so many things happen during conference calls these days. They are like exclusive clubs with their own cliques and whatnot. I think I will start my own conference call titled "Grandmaster J's Talksalot Group on the Phone Thing". Yeah, thats it! Anyhow, THQ's CEO mentioned Red Faction III on a conference call today, and there are plenty of details in the quote section.
Thats right, the long-thought dead Volition franchise is coming back, this time under the new THQ ownership, of course. In a conference call today, THQ CEO Brian Farrell mentioned the title by name and said that additional information would be announced in the 'coming weeks'. And even though it was mentioned that Volition would be developing the third one, the actual team that created Freespace and the earlier Red Faction games have all moved on to other places. So, it is only Volition by name...

Revisiting the hellish Mars from the first Red Faction, huh? Guess we didn't learn our lesson yet.

It probably won't make as much of an impact as it did before, seeing as FPS's are being done to death already, and I used to be a Red Faction fan too. That being said, wouldn't mind seeing a genetically upgraded Alias blowing shit up again.

Man, I remembered playing Red Factions I and II. I loved those games. Those games took the term "destructible environment" to a whole new level.

I hope they release a version for the Xbox 360.

Red Faction III, I can not wait. It has been a great FPS for me in the past though II was a failure. I really do hope this goes ahead.
