Forbes sure love their predictions.
They have recently predicted what current-day games will become classics in the future.

(go to source for full list)

Bioshock
This atmospheric first-person shooter game drew players in to a unique dystopian setting and broke ground with a storyline that forced players to make moral decisions.

Portal
One of the most original (and funny) games in recent history requires players to solve puzzles using a teleporting "Portal Gun." It also features a hugely compelling character in the computerized guide GLaDOS.

Rock Band
The studio that created toy-guitar game phenomenon "Guitar Hero" cranked the volume up to 11 with this new title, which allows players to cooperatively form a musical group and rock out on guitar, bass, drums and vocals.

Super Mario Galaxy
Everyone's favorite Italian plumber is back in this 3D-platform game. In this adventure, Mario travels through space to rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser--a familiar plot, but one enlivened by fantastic environments and a wide variety of game mechanics.

The Witcher
This PC role-playing game is based on a popular Polish fantasy book series. It's received praise for tackling social issues, including racism and sexual violence, and for forcing players to make complex moral choices.

I disagree with Rock Band. Too easy and my friend's RB guitar broke.

Rockband is an instant classic, simply because I and others already have awesome memories of playing the game now. Imagine looking back on it later.

I'm not so sure about The Witcher.

definately agree with the witcher, its one of the best RPGs ive ever played and truely mature with its decisions without needing to resort to mindless violence and gore.

I doubt Rockband will be a classic. I agree with Dance Floor Killah, I'll take brain age over Rockband any day.

Eh, SMG was great when I played it, but I already don't care. It just didn't have the staying power of SM64.

    Bioshock is a possible...

Brain age 2? No....Not only is it a sequel, but it is all about a series of minigames....Fun in a way, I'm sure, but I doubt it can have 'classic' status >_>

I'd like to try The Witcher, I've seen some images of it and stuff, looks good, but there is no way my PC can handle it >_>

I can easily see Rock Band being a classic. Kids won't ask their parents to get them a drum set because they're maybe kinda interested anymore; they'll just get Rock Band for much cheaper and either get really good or realize they suck and save more money. It changes the dynamic of parenting.

    And Portal is wicked.

Yeah, Phantom Hourglass wasn't that spectacular, I don't think it needs to be on the list.
