Grasshopper CEO, Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51), is known for his violent video games. He has been in charge of Killer 7, No More Heroes and will soon be helping out with the creation of the new and horrifying Fatal Frame IV.
But what type of game does he really want to make? In a recent interview with Nintendo Official Magazine UK, Suda revealed that he would like to make a "Mario game for adults" with lots of blood, lots of violence, and a machine gun wielding Mario.

With Killer 7 and No More Heroes - both bonkers and exceptionally violent games - under his belt, Grasshopper CEO Suda 51 has earned a name for cooking up games for an adults-only crowd.

Speaking to Nintendo Official Magazine UK, he revealed his desire to give Mario the Suda-treatment in a "Mario game for adults".
When asked by NOM if he'd ever consider making a game suitable for a younger audience, he replied: "I want to make a Super Mario game for adults.

"Maybe Mario could wear an Italian suit and have a machine gun," he hypothesised, adding, "But Nintendo probably wouldn't like that idea."

If he wants a game like that so bad...I'm SURE he could find some flash games, seen a few Mario gun wielding flash games.

I think this would be brilliant actually. Reinvent Mario.

Changing Mario to that extreme would be a TOUGH sell. Pissed off pipe wrench wielding plumber........maybe. LOL

    I'm down for this.

But Nintendo wouldn't be that keen on ruining Mario's image.

Think of what happened to our beloved Conker.

What? Conker went from a cute squirrel to a badass, drinking, shooting, trash talking squirrel dude. And it totally worked on the N64 too.

Well, I can't say the idea isn't at least a little cool... But we all saw what happened when Shadow the Hedgehog picked up a gun. Don't get me wrong, Shadow is one of my favorite Sonic characters and I actually enjoyed the game a bit. But I must admit I liked him better in Sonic Adventure 2. I certainly wouldn't want to see Mario go down a similar path. Heh...

No way in hell would this work out.

Unless the story is about Luigi getting revenge on MArio for taking the spotlight.

That is sick and wrong. You can't take characters that children like and do that with them. It's like making Disney porn or something. You have to be twisted to do it.

Horrible idea. Mario is too known and loved by kids to be changed into a mature shooting idiot.

This would actually hurt Mario than anything. Can't people be more original. No i don't think violent Mario would work, it would tarnish his image for me.

SUDA51 DO IT!!! This would be the best move for Mario since he moved to 3D, "In the beginning we had 2D, then we had 3D and now Mario is *bleep*ing pissed off with Nintendo, why? For being "reinvented" in such sissy ways!!" I say this would rock!!!

Oh yeah, dude. There could be several different gangs throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. Koopas, Goombas, Toads, Shy Guys, etc...You could jack innocent toads' Yoshis, get high off mushrooms. I see it all turning out like Grand Theft Auto, which hasn't been copied yet.

Seriously, Goichi. Eat shit and kill yourself.

It would make more sense to try and do Sega's thing somewhat. Give Wario a gun... I wouldn't advise it but it would make more sense.

They've thrown Mario's image on some shit games. It's not like they reserve him for good games.

I don't see the point of making an adult Mario game. I'm not against it either. It just sounds like it could be gimmicky.

"LoLz Mario's killing people with a machine gun." 5 minutes later you regret purchasing the game.

Okay, Mario is definitely over-saturated -_-. I will never forget the classic games, the good Mario died long ago. At least on my opinion.
