The rumors were right - a band-specific Guitar Hero game is on its way. Focusing on one of the biggest and best rock bands of all time, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will be released this summer.

Gamers will be able to step into the shoes of one of the best rock bands in the world, perform on venues from the bands past, and rock to the tunes of their biggest hits, as well as songs from artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by.

Mm, it seems that Guitar Hero are taking some of the features on Rock Band.

Nonetheless, this game might kick ass.

Lame. They should have gone with Metallica for the first solo.

My thoughts exactly. An all-Metallica game would be a little hard to beat, though, but it would be worth it.

And the milking is now official.

Aerosmith? Bah! They should have a "Guitar Hero: Linkin Park".

Now that would probably be the best musical game in gaming history. If it was about Linkin Park, I mean.

I'd definitely get a Guitar Hero: Linkin Park. ^^

...Uh, I'll pass. There are many bands out there that have much more talent and taste than Linkin Park when it comes to instrumentation; Aerosmith is one of them.

Now a Guitar Hero: Dream Theater or Guitar Hero: Suspyre, I'd definitely buy.

Is it really worth creating ONE Guitar Hero game for just ONE band?

See my comment above. Anything 'Guitar Hero' will sell. I agree that a whole game purchase for one band seems a bit much for anyone not a huge fan of the band in question, but as long as it sells, they will continue to do it. They're putting this game out and already talking about Guitar Hero 4 later this year. They're milking these products for everything they are worth and everyone feeds into it.

So will Guitar Hero 4 come out in November then? I really don't like Aerosmith much.

There's no word yet on when Guitar Hero 4 will be released, I believe. Like iLLmatic said, they're talking about it.

I won't get this if it's a full-priced game, but I'll definitely look into it. Aerosmith is one of my favorite bands. Can't wait to play "Dream On" or "Living on the Edge" on Guitar Hero.

Why should a Linkin Park oriented version of GH even be discussed? Do they have anywhere the quantity of discography of Aerosmith? Three albums by LP (not including remix albums) as opposed to Aerosmith having over 12.

A DT version of the game would be excellent, but I think it'd be better on rockband, considering they are involving on all instruments.

Oddly enough, Aerosmith is the only thing that could make me buy Guitar Hero(the others didn't have that many songs that I liked, despite being kind of addicting).

I'd like a Zeppelin guitar Hero

The only good that can come out of this is they let you choose more then one band on one game instead of dedicating a whole band to one game.

    An AMAZING band.

They better have the Run DMC version of Walk This Way. That would be awesome.

That would be insane, the first set on easy would be impossible.

If it's around the $30 mark, I might consider it, because Aerosmith do have some really great songs, or at least enough to justify a budget price tag. Anything more than that and I'll probably pass.

It does look good, and it is an interesting idea, but i dont think it will do that well. Not everyone who plays gh (including me) are big fans of aerosmith.

It would be good though to release multiple gh games at the same time of 5 bands (aerosmith being one obviously). 'Guitar Hero: Guns and Roses' would be good idea for example.

Ill prob still get it anyway, tide me over till GH4

I noticed yesterday that you can get Dream On free as DLC for the Xbox 360 version of GHIII for the weekend. Not sure about the PS3 version, but if you haven't already, make sure you get it while it's still free. Ends tonight!
