Why oh why have video games become such a media target lately?
New York post have recently reported on the NIU shootings and guess what is to blame for the killings? Counter-Strike! Yes, a game that the killer, Stephen Kazmierczak, played four years ago is being blamed for the killings.

NYPost failed to mention that everyone in the dorm played Counter-Strike, and that most of Kazmierczak's peers considered him to be a "normal" (if not overly polite and helpful) person before the shootings.

The man who gunned down five people and wounded 16 in an Illinois classroom rampage was a loner who preferred studying to partying and was obsessed with an ultra-violent video game, dormitory mates said yesterday.

"He played a lot of video games, especially Counter-Strike, really loud," said dorm mate Ben Woloszyn, 24.

In the game, players use imaginary money to buy shotguns, pistols and other equipment they need to move around an imaginary world in which they're constantly under threat of being killed by roving terrorists.

    ?

They said this about Cho, AND about the two imbeciles who shot up Columbine, don't recall their names and honestly, who the *bleep* cares?

ALL of them had extreme mental issues, were hell-bent on death to a degree not many sane humans can honestly say they've been to. A game that happens to let SANE people enjoy some FUN becomes the victim when it's JUST a side factor to it. The main issue is how did these kids not get help for their problems.

Wow why can't these people be locked up in a mental facility, Seriously?

I mean Cho was taking medication for crying out, i wouldn't be surprised if the others were too.

Oh my god! I last played CS about 4 years ago too, and I played for a total of about 5 years reliously! If this all adds up, I should blow the hell out of my school too.

It's just I'm missing the most key ingredient, I'M NOT ALREADY *bleep*ING INSANE.

They blame the games because they're ignorant fools >_>

They hear 'video game', and go "ZOMG! He played a GAME! It must be the game's fault!"

    They don't do their research...

Bloody morons, the whole lot of them....

Gun control is the issue, not game control.

Can't say I'm surprised. I was wondering which video game would be blamed this time.
