I'm sure we're all fed up with the negative attention video games have been receiving from the media over the last few days in response to the North Illinois University incident. From Jack Thompson to state legislators, gamers just don't seem to be getting a break. Well, it's time to add one more person to the list: Dr. Michael Rich, who seems to be concerned about the Wii's physical involvement with violent games.

And now technology is taking the violence one step further. The Nintendo Wii system that has been praised for getting players more physically involved in games like bowling and golf now has teenagers acting out virtual murders.

When armed with a knife, players actionably have to move their arms in a stabbing motion.

Well she seems closer than most in saying the stuff about parents and all, she seems sensible enough, she made just need some more info... unlike others who could see it all and still be annoying and acting like the don't have any.

Still I doubt the extent of the significance.

Well that's a new argument. It's motion control...like people don't see movies of this happening or don't know how to slash someone with a knife. -_- Get real, it's common sense, when a real weapon is in your hand, I'm sure you'll know what to do with it, how to use it, unless of course it's too complicated.

I'm becoming seriously annoyed with the baby boomer generation. I wish they'd die already and let us enjoy our video games in peace. :/

I never said I wanted to kill them. I just wish they'd go away or leave us be. Their efforts seem like a desperate struggle to make a difference that the rest of us don't want. We could just make more political dramas and CSIs to incapacitate them.

It doesn't matter that you didn't threaten them directly. Why would you wish death on another being? Did they even cause any harm to your own person? What you said is the same as the ridiculous death threats that gamers send to Jack Thompson, exemplifying the exact violent and corrupted labels he puts on all of us. Everyone else making similar comments to yours and giving you a thumbs up falls into the same category. "I wish they would die." That is either the remark of an adolescent or an immature mind.

Cheers & congrats Dr. Michael Rich, you have pointed out how stupid you are in such a simple manner. I wish you luck with your life filled with ignorance and stupidity.

Honestly this makes it sound like 99% of games are STAB STAB STAB, KILL KILL KILL, freakin have a bath in blood! Ok so that might be a tad over the top but it's not far off. I want opinions of people who know the topic well, both sides of it, not just random clueless (and probably biased) opinions.

Seriously, if they just take notice of the ages of kids that are buying these 'violent' video games, don't we then not have a problem?

Anyways, just because you see someone shoot a guy in a video game, SURE ain't a good escuse to go do it in the real world.

        VioWiince? lol,sounds like baby talk.

The 360 probably has more violent games then the wii, but no game will convince kids to go outside and start shooting Headcrabs and Police because "the game told them to"

    BANDITO ATTACK Feb 19, 08

Honestly, if your ass needs to play a wii game to figure out how to stab someone. I seriously doubt that you could cause any real harm to anyone.

Why don't they just leave us alone, if we want to play video games, then let us.
