    How would that be cool? It would just mean EPIC wouldn't be allowed to develop games for the PS3, and I'd lvoe to see what they could do with the PS3 if they were to develop an exclusive title.

  A given to see, the Unreal 3 Engine license is allowing them to play in a massive pile of money. They're not hard up for cash or developer funds.
  
  Given that Epic has a history of doing what they wish to pursue, a buyout from Sony or Microsoft would be bad news.
  
  You don't need to be bought out to make interesting exclusives, your publishing partner needs only to have giant wads of cash to throw at you to make you tolerate their timetable.
  
  Seems Gamepro is laced with failure, the article from their editor was so ill-researched it was painful.

    I guess since the amount of money they're getting from both Sony and MS and the games on their respectable consoles, 1 billion is cheap. I never saw it like that before, but still i hope it doesn't happen, cause its not going to look good for epic in the future.

  Microsoft are a ruthless dictatorship, they only allow their developers to make one game two if they are lucky, and they have no choice in the matter roll in Bungie Studios for proof of that.
  
  Sony work differently yes they have development studios that only make one game, but they have others that make whatever they like and pick and choose, Sony just put up the money and let them do it... Sony would be the better choice in my opinion just because Epic could keep their core values.
  
  Sony would just replace Midway... Microsoft wouldn't just want to replace Midway but they would take it upon themselves to be Epic Games.

  MS has deep pockets though, so a buyout, even at that price, could still happen...
  
  I don't want it to though (MS has enough exclusive devs already).....
