Sonic RPG Title Revealed, First Screenshots, Coming in 2008

Sega Europe has officially announced the title of the upcoming, Bioware-developed Sonic RPG “Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood”.

They also confirmed that the title will be out at some point in 2008 for the Nintendo DS.

I don't think any recent Sonic game has been good, save for the Dreamcast titles. I predict this release going the same way.

I agree on the recent Sonic games, but this is a Bioware game, and I can't think of a single game they've ever released that hasn't been stellar (even if I was a little disappointed with Mass Effect).

Looking forward to seeing more info on this one.

That's been the big deal. On one hand, Sonic has had bad luck in terms of good games ever since the death of the Dreamcast. Excluding in the hands of Dimps, Sonic games have been between average and mediocre. Not to mention, this is an RPG, which usually takes away from speed gaming, which Sonic is known for.

On the other hand, this game is being made by BioWare, one of the best RPG developers outside of Japan. So it's hard to see them dish out a bad game.

Either way, I know I'm gonna at least give this game a try.

    Sonic Heroes isn't SA3, and it wasn't as good as SA1 or SA2 anyway.

Yeah, I have fond memories of Sonic Adventure on my Dreamcast. Did anyone play the semi-recent Wii Sonic game? Saw that it got decent reviews, but never got around to playing it myself.

  Sonic and the Secret Rings? That sucked. I bought it, and guess what? The story is horrible, the controls are impossible, and it gets very repetitive after 10 missions.
