Wii Fit, WiiWare Release Dates Announced

Wii Fit will release in Europe on April 25th, and the US on May 19th. This is not a mistake, Europe does indeed get it first :(

WiiWare (Wii Software for Europeans) comes out in the US May 12th. No specific date is known for Europe at this time.

I’ll make this easy for you:

Wii Fit:

USA - May 19

Europe - April 25

Wait what? Europe gets a game like Wii Fit before the US?! Preposterous! But alas, it is confirmed, as Nintendo told GamesIndustry.biz that there is no special reasoning for the earlier release, stating that they “just decided to release Wii Fit in Europe first.”

WiiWare (Wii Software in Europe):

USA - May 12

Europe - ?

So Nintendo’s original content rival to Live Arcade and PSN will arrive just one week earlier for those in the US huh? I wonder what games will debut with the service?

    Glad to finally have a date for Wiiware. I don't really see why any Americans would complain about the Wii Fit date though, we get Smash Bros. long before Europe will.

      America gets just about everything before Europe. Consoles, movies, games, DVD/Blu-Ray releases.

    Nice to get something before the Americans from Nintendo. Why is WiiWare going to be called 'Wii Software' over here though? What is the point?

    Europe getting a game before the Americans? Haha, now that's something you won't come across often.. nice though, I may end up getting Wii Fit. Looks like great fun. Don't need to lose weight though, haha.

    I wonder if Ninny will follow through with their 'remake of GC games to Wii' in this way, I want Metroid Prime 1 with Wii controls please

    Good stuff though (but, Wii Fit does look, fairly lame)
