Gears of War 2 announced

An Italian press release sent out just before Microsoft's GDC keynote announces Gears of War 2. A one-minute trailer should arrive soon, as it's apparently being shown during the keynote.

You knew it, I knew it, and now it’s finally official - Gears of War 2, the sequel to Epic Games’ 2006 mega-hit, is coming. Yup, we’re in for some more Locust chainsawing action in the future.

    Played the first one (PC) all co-op with my roommate, good times. Hopefully GoW2 will be just as good.

    Now it has been officially confirmed by Cliffy B himself, even though everyone knew after the Italian PR leak. Can't wait to see some real footage of it.

    Now watch as 360 fanboys arrive to throw crap-encrusted mud at te PS3. It'll be guaranteed a GOTY nomination and likely a win.

    As much as I hate to admit, PS3 owners have nothing to counter this.

      A possible argument could be:
      "yea, well, all your so called exclusives are on the PC too, har har. Why get a 360, all the good games will end up on PC anyways ".

      But, GOTY for 360? possibly. GOTY for all platforms? that's a tough one.

        First party title for MS, they can re-release it as an XNA port if they want to really. Dish a little more money out for extra content to make it worthwhile for the PC gamers and it's a winner. It's not like they released it on another console platform.

        It'll be enjoyable for sure, I just hope the official announcement wasn't what spurred Gamepro to go stupidly into the night going "OMG GOW2, EPIC IS SELLING OUT TO MS"

          Whether I like gears or not, it's kind of obvious it's going to be GOTY or at least win tons of other shit, just like Halo 3 was despite it being rather mediocre. Just because it was Halo.

    It was inevitable. One of the 360s biggest games was bound to get a sequel. Can't wait for this one though. As awesome as the first one was, it still left me craving more. The graphics are also bound to be unparalelled. I just want to be able to fight a lot more big-ass Locusts in this one.

    Going to watch the trailer in a few minutes. Hopefully, the game will be release sometime this year.
