It seems that news regarding Playstation Home are ripe, which could only mean that it's nearing release.

Well today we've gotten more information thanks to ps3fanboy who've been told via an email that the Home Beta will be upgraded next week to v0.8.3 only a couple more points away from v1 where it'll be released to the world.

Whilst this is really for the beta testers out there, here's a list of things you're likely to fine in the final version of the game.

  • Check whose online from your friends list via the PS Home
  • Home Items is available the beta testers to use
  • Video streaming is now possible
  • A virtual Marketplace where you can get clothes from can be found in the main square
  • Currently you can't play games with people from other regions, however the bugs in this feature are said to be intended to be ironed out, before release

It'll probably be 5GB, for obvious reasons.

I still think that we won't see Home until Fall, but fair enough, they are updating more frequently.

I don't think it'll be that far away. At the latest, I'd say June. Fall is over 5 months away, and we're already at beta testing.

It's strange how a big thing like this only requires 500MB but something like Lost Planet need a 5GB install.

I hope it gets released soon, how do you think they'll hold the Beta?
