It's rumor that the official release date is now scheduled for June 12, 2008 but in all honesty, I wouldn't get your hopes up just in case it ends up not happening. Even though I'm a huge MGS fan i've learned to just be patient and not jump all over every "leaked" or "rumored" release date. It'll get released eventually, there are no worries.

The bigger news to me is that Sony might be offering a new PS3 bundle which includes an 80GB PS3, MGS4, and a Dual Shock 3 controller all in one box. I would assume that if another version of the PS3 gets announced, since they're dropping the 80gb, that will take the place of the 80gb in this bundle. And trust me, the Dual Shock 3 controller is well worth it, more weight and the best vibration feedback of any controller available.

Word from Destination PlayStation, a retailers-only conference for all things PlayStation related, is that Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the PlayStation 3 on June 12, 2008. According to sources there now, the release of Kojima Productions action-stealth game will arrive on a Thursday, oddly enough. Even more interesting is that we're hearing word that Sony will be offering a hardware bundle that features MGS4, an 80GB PlayStation 3 and a DualShock 3 packed-in.
