The next in next-gen controllers has finally been given a street date, and it isn't that far off, in fact it should be hitting the US before GTA4... set for launch on April 15th it'll be released at the same time as GT5 Prologue, however what the EU release date is, is still to be seen, hopefully we wont have to wait that long for it to cross the shores.

We have more word from retailer conference Destination PlayStation: the DualShock 3—you know, that DualShock we've been waiting for since the PS3's launch—has gotten a US release date.

Any PS3 owner needs to pick one of these up. They are without a doubt worth it. The added weight makes the controller feel a lot more solid and that alone changes the way playing any game feels.

Then there's the vibration functionality which nearly ALL games, (yes even release titles) have been updated to add this vibration functionality. The best part about the vibration functionality is the level of subtlety to it. It is without a doubt the best vibration feedback of any controller available on any console. There are way more levels of intensity this time around and it helps the immersion even more, especially in racing games.

The only thing I could ask for is that Team Ninja freaking update Ninja Gaiden Sigma and give me vibration! That's about the only game that I own that doesn't have it, and I have 18 PS3 games.

I picked up one from e-bay a couple months ago, and it COMPLETELY changed my gaming experience on the PS3!! I am anxious to get a second one. Looking forward to this!!

Is the only new thing the vibration? Cause I'm not getting it if that's all.

Yeah but believe me it's WELL worth it!!! I haven't touched my basic six axis controllers since I got my Dualshock 3. Not only that, but it's adds more weight.

The original PS3 controller was extremely light, and whilst that may sound like a good thing, I know that I've felt that it's going to break when I grip it tightly (for example when playing Folklore, I have shake the controller, and it feels like it's going to break any second). So more weight and added vibration is what's new

Actually it not much heavier than the original Sixaxis. They use a thicker grade of plastic is the only difference I can see. When you hold up your Sixaxis to a light you can see through it, you can't with the Dualshock 3. It's more like the Dualshock 2 but lighter. I still feel like I could easily snap it into pieces.

Or you can spend 50 on an old ps3 controller. I bet the old sixaxis will drop in price untill they run out of them and sell only DS3

I hope places offer some trade in deal where you can trade in a Sixaxis controller and get a discount on a DS3 because I already have 2 Sixaxis and I have no need for 3 controllers.
