Want to help make a Guiness World Record?

Guinness World Record Gamers Edition 2009 is looking to make a new record - The Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Game Characters. If you're big on cosplaying, or have something that vaguely resembles a game character's outfit in your closet, then Guiness World Records is looking for you to help them with their record.

Like to dress up? Then have we got something for you, but it might cost you a plane ticket.

Guinness World Record's Gamer's Edition seeks to create the 'Largest gathering of Games characters' at the Millenium Bridge in London on March 18th, and they're inviting gamers and cosplayers to come make history.

"All characters will appear in the Guinness World Record Gamers Edition 2009 plus on the website as well as receiving a gift for their efforts! The record attempt celebrates the inaugral Guinness World Record Gamer's Edition that is on sale now and is bursting with new records, high score statistics and fascinating facts."

To register, send an e-mail to gamesgathering@guinnessworldrecords.com, or if you'd rather try your hand at setting another gaming record, check out their website to see what you can do.

Why? The one in the middle looks like a man.
Shit, they all look like men.
      Ugly men.

Well, I see quite a few game characters at anime conventions. So since Anime Expo is the largest convention in the USA, couldn't that be a good candidate?

Ok, now this is just wrong! Us gamers will get even more bad publicity if we get in a big group and start brandishing swords and guns and god know what else, and wearing dresses.

    Kidding.

This would be extremely cool... 500 000 Clouds in the one place...

Cosplay is just plain weird tbh. I've never seen the attraction to it.

Cosplay is second only to furry fandom in weirdness.. although I suppose furries are a type of cosplayers.. *shivers*

I dunno ... The people who can flawlessly pull off a cosplay are pretty impressive. Especially the people who have made a career out of it.

Though for every 1 fantastic cosplay, there are 10 crappy ones.

Kinda defeats the purpose when you offer them all gifts and stuff. Heaps of record with 'Most amount of people doing...at a time' could be smashed if you just offered everyone who came $20

I don't think it is worth the (admittedly short) flight from Ireland to Britain, besides I wouldn't be able to bring my Master Sword anyway.
