Only too soon after hearing that the Wii might be getting adult games, someone manages to link video games to rape. How such a link could have been established is beyond me, but it's been done by Parliament member Keith Vaz (right). He left the building shortly thereafter, so his response couldn't be obtained when someone questioned the validity of his statement.

"Well, whatever they are called, when people play these things, they can interact. They can shoot people; they can kill people. As the honourable Gentleman said, they can rape women."

Rape, murder and such existed before video games therefore it is quite stupid to say that video games directly lead to any of these things.

Also I don't know any game in which you can rape people...

While I don't agree with what this guy is saying, ali3n what you bring up doesn't disprove the fact that videogames could lead to those things. Just because somethingA existed before somethingB doesn't meant somethingB couldn't add to causing somethingA.

I never said they didn't lead I said they didn't directly lead meaning that they aren't the main reason as to why people do these things. They way people are reacting is making it seem like video games are the main culprits.

By the looks of that fat guy's face, he's not really well up to videogames, especially if he says:
    quote
    "whatever they are called"
    quote
    when people play these things
    LOL!

Haha! Yes, video games do link to rape, not crazy sex drives or psychos out there...

Strange, you must be really "clever" to be able to connect video games to rape.

I read this title and immediately clicked it to just say in the most sincere way possible..

    *bleep* you Keith Vaz.

Ok, lets pretend we have a time machine. lets go back to the crusades (Assassins Creed style.. kinda.) If you looked around that time period.. I'm fairly sure they had rapists then.

Wait wait.. whats that you say? A bad example? Oh ok.. Read the Bible then. Plenty of rape, murder, theft, fire and People getting Nailed to blocks of wood.

While that is indeed a bad example as Jmac pointed out it still supports the fact that humans are naturally violent, murderous beasts. Don't blame games, blame rapists and crazy people.

Oh of course video games lead to rape. I mean, we all know that every single gamer in the world just loves to go out and rape someone after playing Call Of Duty 4!

Where do people get these *bleep*ed up ideas?

Don't you guys know that video games are the source of all evil? Rape, war, murder, thievery, car jacking, and vampires were not around prior to Pong and Super Mario Brothers.

I've never even really seen a video game with rape in it. Wait, that's not true... I saw something like that in an old Atari porn game once. Remember everyone, Atari causes rape and murder!

A round of a applause for another politician to talk out of his ass about an issue he doesn't know about.

If this keeps going on, I might actually have to give a shit about politics or worse...

I assert that Keith Vaz is linked to rape.

Buy my new book to find out how!

Well, Thompson is said to soon be owned by the Florida Bar... I suppose we need a new nutjob.

Lets revise the things that aren't linked to rape.

    1. Being exposed to domestic violence has nothing to do with it.

    2. Your girlfriend cheating on you with some other guy has nothing to do with it.

    3. Your ex-wife taking half of your money has nothing to do with it.

There is only one logical answer...video games. (notice sarcasm)

There are plenty more reasons that should've been put before video games.

I disagree. No video games = automatically no rape in the world.
