The Legend of Zelda series has often been regarded as being one of the most epic and groundbreaking series of all time. The original Legend of Zelda for the NES introduced us to the dungeon-crawling formula, while later games for the SNES and N64 refined the gameplay, controls, and graphics. The N64 entry, Ocarina of Time, is often debated as being the greatest game of all time. (it holds an average review score of 99% on Media Critic)

GameDaily takes a look back at the ten greatest Zelda games of all time. It was very tough to narrow the list down to ten, so don't be upset if your favorite didn't make the cut. :D

10. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages (Game Boy Color, 2001)
Nintendo's Game Boy Color Zelda releases, the Oracle of Seasons and the Oracle of Ages, are refreshing entries in the series. Both games interact via two separate GBC systems and a link cable, the first Zelda releases to do so. They're difficult to find, but worth tracking down if you're up for some old school adventuring.

Are there even many more Zelda games than these to begin with?

There's no Majora's Mask? Sure, it's not the best Zelda game, but it definitely deserves to be in the top ten.

It seems like they counted that as a "follow-up" to Ocarina of Time, rather than a whole game of it's own. They are quite similar, but personally, I still think it deserves it's own spot on that list.

That does cover nearly the entire series, though, including all of the spin-offs. As a whole, I think it is a pretty good list, although I would have re-ordered quite a few of the games.

Majora's Mask was my favorite Zelda game ever. I think it deserves to be in the top 10 as well.

As long as OoT is first then I'm happy.

I knew what was going to be in the first slot without even giving it more than a second's thought. Honestly, if OoT was even in second place they would of lost all credibility, haha.

Twilight Princess was ranked too high, it's only my eighth favourite Zelda and I've beaten all of them except for the CD-i ones!

Seems like a reasonable list, though it is bad that Majora's Mask isn't even in the top 10 since that's in my top 5 for sure.

As for Ocarina of Time.. glad to see it where it belongs, since it is my favourite game of all time, not just my favourite Zelda game.

Majora's absence gets me as well. It is certainly top five material, and my personal favorite Zelda game.

To note, the only Nintendo-made Zelda games not included are Zelda 2, Majora's Mask, Four Sword Adventures, and Zelda Game and Watch.

I agree with the list, except for not putting Majora's Mask on there. I think it definitely deserved to be on the list, no matter what position they had it in.

I would remove Four Swords and the Oracles and replace them with Majora's Mask and Four Swords Adventures. I would also raise Minish Cap higher then the original LoZ and Link's Awakening. Minish Cap is probably the least-known game in the series, but it's really a great game.

The top 3 is perfect. Oot, aLttP, and TP.

I'm glad that Twilight Princess is in there.
I played Ocarina of Time, and I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't get into the game. I played for it for a while, and got a little bored. But when I play Twilight Princess, I got into it right away.

I've only played; A link to the Past (in french unfortunately I should have read the cartridge's fine print, and the GBA version), Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask...

OoT and Majoras Mask were both great to me I have to say, I think in a way I liked Majora's more (mostly the special body changing masks, particularly the Goron one), but OoT was pure awesome when it first came out

The 'Oracle of' games were great...imo they should be in the top five, but that's just me. Still have a pretty good poster of the two games on my wall.

Everyone knew OoT wa the best. But for some reason. When you beat it once it gets really boring. That is why I think TP is better.
